Transformation is only a blink away

90-days to break a colt from green to growin’ , but it’s a lifetime of wisdom help us mold him.  Likewise; we are God’s masterpiece, & our entire life is His Handiwork.

But how do we take our partnership with our horse, and with God from fun to be around, to functional in the pasture to able to win in the arena of life? Maybe you’ve never thought about it like this – but a good saddle horse doesn’t get good overnight. Usually he requires an unrushed process for solid growth. Then, once he’s safe in the roundpen the real work begins!

Chances are you aren’t going to ride him in the arena at home alone forever. You want to be able to use that power to your advantage somewhere! Maybe out on the trail, maybe branding, maybe barrel racing. But a solid horse takes time and exposure.

That exposure is what I like to call ‘cross-training’. Maybe your race-bred barrel horse won’t have a career in the roping arena but he will definetly benefit in confidence from tracking cattle. Maybe your paint horse hates the arena and loves the trail, well he could still use the of patience on arena type skills for smooth handling on the trail.

The cross-training is that little extra exposure to other disciples that will ‘pay dividens’ in the future for the quality of partnership and enjoyment of the experience. The same goes for our partnership with The Lord, believe it or not.

God is never through with us. No matter how many times we tangled ourselves in some old barbed wire fence, or pulled back voilently on the hitching rail, or jigged the whole way home barn sour as could be. He STILL wants to develop us into His finest creation and version of you He has in mind.

The Word of God says we are His workmanship and He has good plans for us. He wants to give us the ‘cross-training’ we need to succeed in life. And truth be told, the ultimate version of success here on earth is partnership with Him.

So what do you say? Will you follow a feel so you can discover your zeal?

I don’t know how she does it but she bridged a lot of gaps for me in my understanding of who God is, through techniques in horse training. God is no longer a vague figure for me, and I’m happy to say my walk with Him is strengthen day by day.
